How To Easily Build A List Of Potential Security Guard Customers

Are you looking for a database where you can find a list of potential security guard customers? Unfortunately, there is no such thing. So let me tell you how to create your own database.

I’ve talked to hundreds of companies across the years, who have purchased customer lists from list sellers and those lists almost always turn out to be a waste of money and time. The only real way to acquire a list is to build your own.  The technique that I am about to teach you for building your list is not a secret and it’s not complex, but it does take a little time to implement and develop.

Never buy lists of potential security guard customers

The first step in this process is creating a digital product that you can give away for free to your potential customers. So what is a digital product? Digital products are goods that exist in digital form. Examples include eBooks, infographics, webinars, video tutorials, etc.

So as a security company, what type of digital products can you offer?  Well, let’s say that you are looking to create a database of property managers for large residential facilities. In that case, you might choose to create a list of the “Top 15 Software Products Used By Residential Property Managers” or how about “The Top 20 Tips for Residential Property Managers.”

You can create these digital products in two ways, the first is to do interviews with your current customers to get their perspectives. For example, you could ask your current customers, for their top software platforms or their top 20 tips for residential property managers…Easy enough.

The second alternative is to jump online and do the research yourself. Either way, creating a digital product is the most difficult part of this process. Once you have created the digital product, upload the document onto your website without adding any direct links to it.

The second step to this project is to log into your email marketing software and create a list to capture the contact details for anyone who wants to download your product.  The Information Page for the signup list will talk about what the product is and how it will benefit the reader. Here is an example of what the page might look like

After the prospect clicks the Download for Free button they are taken to a page where they can exchange their contact information for your digital product.

The third step is to start using the link that MailChimp created for your Information Page on your blog, in your email signature, and all over the internet. You want to put that link everywhere your potential customers hang out online including LinkedIn, Facebook Groups, and Property Manager forums.

So that is one of my secrets for creating your own database of potential customers. Once you get the hang of it, you can create dozens of digital products that will help you find hundreds of potential customers. What other marketing techniques do you use to find new customers?
